Lunchtime Activities

There are a range of sports on offer at the college that are FREE for all students to take part in. Most days there is a lunchtime sport for all to access. These sports are all about participation – there is no commitment or sign up and you are free to drop in and out whenever it suits. Competition opportunities are available at dates through the year against the 3 local colleges in Hertfordshire, however this is completely optional.

Involvement in participation sport can be beneficial in many ways above and beyond the well-known physical health benefits:

  • Social benefits – you get to meet new people and make friends from courses across the college
  • Mental health benefits – including improving confidence and concentration levels leading to improved behaviour in the classroom
  • Life Skills – skills that can be transferred from sport into the classroom such as time management, organisation and motivation
  • Enjoyment – Scheduled time away from the pressures of college work
