Help with your studies

The Learning Resource Centres provide outside the classroom support for your studies at Oaklands College. If you need some extra help with English/Maths/ICT, want to catch up with your assignments, need advice about essay writing or note taking, want to produce interesting leaflets and posters, need some assistance with research and revision, would like to know more about Oaklearn or online assignment submission and how to avoid plagiarism, please come to the desk . We will always try to help you straight away but you can also book an individual or group session with a Learning Facilitator or Learning Coach.

Come along to use the PCs, read the books and journals, access the ebooks, borrow a laptop or a camera or just ask for some general help.

The Learning Resource Centres are open from 8.00 a.m. to 8.00 p.m. in term time and we look forward to seeing you.

From books to computers to eLearning to journals to online databases, the staff in the LRCs at each campus are happy to help. The LRCs are zoned to suit your study (please respect the zones – others are working too).

Finding class a bit tough? Need some support – the ILS Department is the one for you.

Most other queries can be answered by the Student Advisers …if they don’t know, they will find someone who does!

Don’t forget you can contact your tutor at any time via email if you feel you are struggling with your workload – all staff email addresses are: firstname.surname@oaklands.ac.uk.
